Warm Winter Wishes

Wow, I am so excited because it is actually CHILLY here in Miami, WOOHOO!!!! This weather is hard to come by in these parts of the woods so I am enjoying it to the fullest....bringing out my sweaters, driving with my car windows down, and digging for my Christmas decorations! Anyhoo, this week's challenge over at the BBTB was to use the tree from Stretch Your Imagination in a Christmas themed project. I used a different color scheme than the usual red and green...the base of the card is a shimmery Bazzill paper and I got the PP from my LSS (I forgot the line who carries it!) The font is Classy Charm from Scrapnfonts (I am in love with this font!). The snowflakes are cut from a Sizzix die and the ribbon is from American Crafts that my sister got me for my birthday (thanks sis!).

Haulin' the tree!!

This week's challenge over at the BBTB was to use the car icon from the Mickey and Friends cartridge. I decided to make a LO for to put a picture of my husband and I picking/taking our Christmas tree home. I can't wait to go pick out our tree this year and start decorating for the holidays...it's my all-time favorite time of the year! For the LO I cut a circle from George and free handed the silver part to make it an ornament. The title was cut with All Mixed Up and the x-mas tree was cut from Christmas Cheer. Hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas

Hello to all!!! I am back from my wonderful trip to Greece (it was awesome!)...just in time to take part in the weekly challenge for the BBTB. This week ScrapnFonts sponsored our challenge and we were to use the Classy Charm fonts in our project. I created a x-mas card using the DCWV Christmas stack. The card was cut from Christmas Cheer, I used some hemp from CTMH to attach the ornament from the tag, and the ribbon/buttons are from my stash. Hope you enjoy! California Grown

For this week's challenge over at the BBTB we had to use Accent 49 from Accent Essentials. I have to tell you...it was a hard cut to use!! Anyhoo, I used it in a LO California grapes. On our trip to Napa I just HAD to stop and take some pictures of the grapes (and have a handful too!) I used StoryBook for the title and the grape bunch accent was from a button pack bought at M's. Please go visit the BBTB to see all the other projects!

A Perfect Pair

We had to use the pear cut from Home Accents for the BBTB challenge this week so I decided to make a LO of my husband and I at a vineyard in Napa Valley. I used SEI for the PP and cut the green background from Accent Essentials. I also used a yummy Prima flower from a kit that I had bought months ago..yay I finally got around to using it! The title is from Printing 101 and the ribbon is Offray. Enjoy and make sure to go see all the other wonderful creations at the BBTB!

Happy Birthday Banner

My boss asked me to do a birthday banner for her little girl's 2nd birthday party. Her theme was cow/farm print and I looked all over for cow print cardstock but had no luck. Then I turned to fabric and found the cutest print ever!! I made the triangles from the Celebrations cart and the letters from the Storybook cart. I attached each triangle with striped Offray ribbon.

Simply Beautiful

I had ordered a card kit from my friends Krista and Penny over at Sweet Arts Paperie and finally picked up from my mom's house where it had been sent! I couldn't wait to use it and figured it would be perfect for the BBTB's challenge this week to use the dress from the Dreams come true cartridge. I must give a special thakns to my friend DeeDee for sending me the cut!! The flowers are from the Brides collection at M's, the ribbon is Offray, and the pearls are from Marcella K.

Boo to you!!

One of my co-workers asked me to make some invitations for a Halloween party that she is having and this is what a came up with!! I used some yummy metallic orange paper from The Paper Company. The spider web is a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I heat embossed with a Stamp-n Stuff "Marcasite" powder. The ribbon is from M's...they have the cutest Halloween ribbon now!! And the stamp is from the $1 section heat embossed with the powder "Pearlustre Carnelian". Enjoy and have a Happy Sunday!

Oriental Card and Box

Well I have been pretty busy this weekend with crafting/planning/creating!! I have two very important weddings next year and I have been commissioned to make the invitation, favors, and what nots for the events. This card and matching box was for my cousin's bridal shower. We are doing it with an oriental theme and so I found this beautiful paper to make my first sample. Unfortunately we will not be using it for the party but I still wanted to post it!! The paper is from DCWV (Far east Print) I cut the box with a take out box Sizzix die. For other ideas on how to use this box go visit my wonderful DSIL, TeriBeri's blog.

Picnic Sausalito Style

My husband and I went to San Francisco in August for a couple of days. I LOVED everything about that city....One of the "touristy" things we did was rent bikes and cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge to the small town of Sausalito (another super cute town). After sightseeing, we bought some sandwiches and had a picnic in a park overlooking the bay. Now that's the life....:o). Anyhoo, for the BBTB challenge this week we had to use the basket cut from Doodlecharms. I hand cut the bread and added some flower brads to the basket. The title, circle, scallop edges, and flower are from Plantin Schoolbook. Hope you enjoy! To go see all the other AWESOME projects on the BBTB click here!

When Regina over at the BBTB sent out the cut that we had to use for this week...I knew exactly what I was going to do and who it was for!!! I used the SEI stack (again!) for the actual box and Bazzill for the chocolate brown paper. I used water thread punch to scallop the edges and some liquid pearl for the dots around the edges. The title is from OA and the tag is cut with chipboard from Sizzix. And the beautiful crochet flower is from my dear friend Carole....thank you so much girl! And the ribbon is from my stash. Pease be sure to go see all the other cake boxes at BBTB...they are fabulous!! I am so proud to be on the awesome DT!

Surprise....Baby on the Way

I made these 2 pages for my "friends" album. The first one of us to get pregnant was a HUGE thing and it happened earlier this year! She waited until we were all together celebrating the holidays and new year to give us the news. You can just imagine how elated we were to hear that one of OUR friends was finally preggo!! I used a fabulous paper stack I bought from SEI called Oasis. I used the Storybook cart for the first time and loved it!! All the cuts are from there except the file folder cut that is from Fabulous Finds and small flowers around journaling block that are from WIMG. The ribbon is from my stash and the brown flowers are Prima. Hope you enjoy!

I love chu

This week on the BBTB blog, Regina had us use the train cut from New Arrival. I made this one page LO using PP from DCWV's Nana's Kids. I cut the heart from a Cuttlebug die and the "smoke" is actually a flower die cut from Sizzix. The "I" and "chu" is from Zooballoo and I made the photo corners free hand by cutting 2 X 2 squares. I used black Floss to connect the cabooses together. Hope you enjoy! And please make sure to go over to BBTB and take a peek at all the wonderful projects that AWESOME DT came up!

I based this card on Kazan's sketch over at 2Sketches4You. My very dear friend is having a baby girl and I made her this card for her baby shower (which by the way came out beautiful and so much fun!) Her color scheme was pink and green that's why I chose those colors. I used the DCWV Nana's stack for the ladybug PP. I cut the flower and the leaf from WIMG. The stamp was from the dollar section at M's. The ribbon on the envelope is from Offray. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

I made this card for my boss' birthday and she loved it! I bought this awesome stack from Cloud 9 at J's and just HAD to use it! I used paper from M's as the base of the card, cut some chocolate brown felt free hand and sewed it onto the card. The flower came from the scrap pieces of the envelope along with the two rectangle strips which I sewed onto the felt. I used a pearl button, some stickles, computer fonts, and a chipboard heart which I cut from a Cuttlebug die.

Pool Fun

For this week's challenge over at BBTB, we were to use the pound sign (#) from the George cart. I decided to scrap alot of pictures together in this LO. I used pattern paper from FLair Designs and Bazzil cardstock. The title "POOL FUN" I cut from George along with the pound sign. I stitched around the pound sign with white thread and added a ribbon, button, and some embellishments. The title from the other page, "cool in the pool" is from AMU and the round tag it's on is from Fabulous Finds. Hope you enjoy!!

I've been tagged!!

Carole Beath from Paper Arts tagged me...so here are the rules: Answer the questions, then tag 5 or 6 of your friends. Go to their blogs and tell them they've been tagged and ask them to visit your blog for details. Here are my questions and answers:

Ten years ago: I was enjoying the summer before my junior year in high school. I decided to go to summer school for the first time ever, not because I needed to go, but because all my friends were doing it and we were all taking the same classes. So...why stay home when we could be having fun in school?

Five things to do today: Finish writing 2 reports for work that I have been putting off all night. Transfer the load of clothes from the washer to the dryer. Get things ready for tomorrow's lunch....(yes, I pack my lunch everyday, it guarantees that I eat healthier!) Read a couple more pages from the novel on my nightstand. Wait up for my hubby to get back from picking up a friend at the airport.

Snacks: Anything chocolate. I actually went to an early dinner with my hubby tonight and had the most delicious chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yummy!

If I were (to become) a millionaire: I would pay off my house, my parents', and my in-laws' houses. Since I have a big family, I would give some money to everyone in order to help them with something. I would travel the world because that is my favorite thing to do. Definitely invest money ( I would have to talk to a professional about that because I wouldn't even know where to start!). And of course, take my friends on a small shopping spree!!

Places I have lived: Miami, Florida...born and raised!

Alright, I have shared a little bit of myself..now it's time for TeriBeri, Sonia, Regina, Krista, and Michele to share with us!

Happy Birthday

Well as you can see my girlfriend was celebrating her birthday and we just had a splendid time!! We went out to a lounge in our dowtown district and had a last. Our challenge this week over at BBTB was to use the banner cut from Celebrations....and I knew exactly what I was going to use it for because I had been wanting to scrap those pictures since March! Be sure to go check out all the other creations our wonderful design team came up with!

Materials used:
PP: Basic Grey
Banner flags, tab, scalloped square, gifts, balloons: Celebrations
Title: All Mixed Up
Embroidery floss, stickles, ribbon, buttons: My Stash!

A popsicle a day keeps the doctor away!

Someone on our design team has been a little under the weather so I made her this card to try to cheer her up a bit and maybe feel a little better ;o)! The challenge at the BBTB was to use the popsicle cut from DC. This cut was so much fun!! I used real popsicle sticks, Offray ribbon, buttons, stickles, and some stitching. Make sure to go and check out all the other AWESOME projects the girls did over here!

Mommy to be..

I just finished the card for Kazan's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You! My best friend is pregnant and her baby shower is in a couple of weeks so I figured I'd get her card done early since I will be making something crafty for her shower that will take me some time! (I will post that to show you once it's displayed!) I used the K & Co. mat stack for the PP, Offray ribbon, Marcela K pearls, flowers from my stash, and some buttons from Michael's. The typed sentiment is from the computer and I used liquid pearl and some stitching to spazz it up a bit.

Card Sketches

Laura & Kazan have teamed up to create a new sketch blog 2 Sketches 4 You! They will each be posting a card sketch every week...and from what I hear there will also be fun challenges and prizes! This first card is from Laura's sketch. I used Daisy D paper, offray ribbon, WIMG for the flowers and Stampin' Up rubber stamp sentiment. I put some Swarovski rhinestones on the sentiment, liquid glassed the edges of the flower base, distressed the edges of the card and did some sewing. Enjoy!

you make me so hoppy

Hello all! I have to say that I just LOVE how this LO turned out. I found this awesome paper stack at M's from S.E.I. and had to get it! And since my hubby and I were going to a wedding this past weekend...I decided to take some nice black and white pictures to make a LO of us. Our challenge this week over on the BBTB was to use the grasshopper from SYI. To get the scallops on the side I used the scallop edge on PS on the "Fit to Page" feature. I covered the cut with a green zigzag ribbon from American Crafts and put a bow on the top with some heart pins from J's. I used PS for the "you make" and cut the rectangle with edge scissors. The "me" is from a pack of Lil' Davis chipboard letter, "so" is from MM and the cute little grasshopper is from SYI. I made the flower myself using the bug and put an SEI brad in the center.

Baby Leah

My very dear friend had his first baby girl. I promised him that I would make something special for his little girl Leah. I used the K & Co mat pad to create the border around the page. I cut all the pieces free hand and pieced them together the best I could. I looked through all the cartridges I had to find cherries, but had no luck...sooo, I made my own from different cuts. The stems are actually the sides of a chipboard heart that I had as a scrap piece. The baby girl outfit is from NA. I used the Fiskars water thread punch for the scallops (thanks DSIL!!) For the name I used OA and liquis glassed the shadow part. I put the finished LO into a 12 X 12 framed shadow box.

Lucky U

I made this card with so much LOVE! I made it for my little sister (even though she is 20) because she is going to study abroad in Seville, Spain for a month. I am soooo proud of her for making her dreams come true! The challenge for this week over on the BBTB was to use the word "Lucky" from Alphalicious. Be sure to check out all the amazing things the girls did over on the BBTB blog!

I wanted to use some fabric that I had gotten at J's so I cut a strip and stitched it onto the base of the card. I made a butterfly with WIMG, stickled it, liquid glassed the middle, and added some rhinestones. I used one of the scalloped accents from AE to give the butterfly an accent. The copper brad is from my LSS (I forgot who makes it) and the ribbon is from Sweet Sassy. I made the "U" out of fabric-covered chipboard using the Cuttlebug Red Tag. And my DSIL (thank you!) added the Swarovski crystals on the fabric piece!!! I used the recently discovered feature on my sewing machine to stitch around the front of the envelope, the word "sister" was done with AMU, and the accents are from AE.

Guess WHO loves you?

I have to say this is one of the cutest cuts I've used by far!! This week over at the BBTB, Regina asked us to use the OWL cut from Happily Ever After. I decided to make a card for my hubby to remind him how much I love him! The picture distorted the colors...but the card is black and white. I used the owl cut from Happily Ever After and the stamp cut from Base Camp. The words "guess" and "WHO" are from Microsoft Word. The ribbon is Offray and the safety pin and buttons are from my stash.

Engagement party at my house!!

For those of you who read my previous posts you know that I have been busy preparing for an engagement party that I hosted at my house for my cousin and her fiance. She has always wanted a beach wedding, but now that wedding plans are underway, she realized it was not going to be possible to have the wedding on the beach. So we decided to bring the beach to her for the party. And since I live close to the Florida Keys (less than 1 hour away) we drove down there and bought some real starfish and sand dollars to use as decorations! My cousin was thrilled to say the least and we all had a wonderful time! Here are some pictures of the decorations!
